| With the recent launch of the MOC (magazines on cartridge) program we have received several questions about how patrons can copy single or multiple magazine cartridge items from their MOC cartridges on to their Humanware Victor Stream SD memory cards. The transfer process is actually quite simple, as all a person needs to do is plug the cartridge in to the Stream using a male/female USB cable, and then press “3” on their VRS keypad and he/she will be prompted to transfer a book or magazine to the SD card. In order to accomplish this transfer, however, the book or magazine must be engaged and not merely pointed to from afolder. An analogy would be the bookshelf feature on the DTBM, which a patron with a multiple book or magazine cartridge must use to choose between multiple items loaded on to a cartridge. Until a book is engaged by pressing the Play button, one is merely pointing to or navigating the directory of books/magazines. Similarly, on the VRS the VR_DTB folder is the bookshelf in this case and is the folder where content from an auxiliary cartridge shows up. A patron must press play or engage a specific book or magazine before he/she can transfer that item from cartridge to SD memory card. There is no way to mass transfer multiple items from a cartridge. Each book or magazine from the VR_DTB folder (bookshelf) must be transferred one at a time. | There is one method of doing a multiple item transfer to a Victor Reader Stream, provided you have computer access. This will not work for those who hook a cartridge to the Victor Reader Stream directly. The Humanware Companion, available for free from the Humanware website, will do multiple transfers of items from a cartridge to a Stream.
