Public Programs
MI1A
  • Computer Club - Once a month. Staff member arranges for a speaker or special topic to be discussed. Examples of topics include community technology resources, specific software and hardware overviews, and annual accessible technology Holiday Shopping presentation.
  • Book Club - Once a month. Participants select fiction and non-fiction books on a variety of topics of interest to the group. Discussion is moderated by a volunteer participant.
  • Knitting Group - Once a month. Crafters drop-in at the Lansing Braille and Talking Book Library where a staff member is available to provide instruction and assistance in knitting and crochet.
MI1B
  • Film: “Going Blind” This event is intended for adults and teens grade 6 and up. Documentary film of personal stories about coping with vision loss, and bringing awareness to low vision therapy. This film will be shown with the Described Video Service narration feature for people with low or no vision.
  • Craft Your Name in Braille. This event is intended for grade K - 5. Use Braille alphabet cards and foam stickers to make a sign with your name in Braille on it.
