What To Do If The Player Does Not Charge The Battery

(information from http://nlsbph.org/MDD/index.php?title=Battery_Charging_Issues)

Connect player to AC power

Install the latest version of the software.

Clear any power-fault by: 1. Enter Service Level 1: Turn off the player, then while holding down RW, Sleep & Tone Up buttons press the Power button.

2. Press and hold the Sleep buttion while the status messages are playing until the player powers off. 3. Enter Service Level 2: Turn off the player, then while holding down RW, Sleep & Tone Down buttons press the Power button.

4. Press RW to get to the “Battery” option and then Play/Stop to select.

5. Press FF to move to the “Initiate Battery Recharge” option and then Play/Stop to select.

6. Press the Power button to exit the service level and press the Power button again to turn the player on.

7. Wait five minutes. (Although the player will report “Battery recharge in progress” during this period in response to pressing the Power button, this is an indication of the player's intent rather than actual operation.)

8. Press the Power button once to hear the battery state. If the player reports “Battery recharge in progress” then recharging has commenced.

9. Wait for three hours (for a fully discharged battery) to confirm that the charge has successfully concluded. During this time, the “battery charge remaining” message, in response to pressing the Power button will give an indication of charge progress.
