Michigan BTBL Collection Development Policy

The Michigan Bureau of Services for Blind Persons (BSBP), Braille and Talking Book Library (BTBL) (http://michigan.gov/btbl/) is committed to providing library materials in alternate formats to people with print disabilities–including blindness, low vision, physical impairments, or reading disabilities–according to the standards of the Library of Congress, National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS) (http://www.loc.gov/nls/eligible.html).

Materials are selected for inclusion in the Michigan BTBL local collection based on subject matter, interests of Michigan patrons, and at the discretion of the BTBL Reader Advisory Librarians.
